The Seven Pointed Star

Isis

Scarab Beetle

The Scarab Beetle is such a classic symbol of Egypt.  The beetle pushing the Sun across the sky and following behind it the astrology symbolism, which would be a great segue into another design phase, but not yet.  This was one of the easier designs to do because I had to just draw half of it and mirror the other side, which made me think of the eye of Ra, it being a symbol of wisdom, so I decided to put it at the top of the image.

Cirlce

Even though I’ve had fun working and designing the other images, this one was a lot of fun to do.  It is quite simple and plain, but I think that is why I like it so much.  The circle was an idea from some of the pictures of scarab beetles design I was looking at, the moon was something as an afterthought because scarabs are usually seen pushing the sun.  And the Eye of Ra is just a cool looking symbol.  If I could I would just use that symbol almost anywhere.  And throughout some of the other designs you might be able to find it.

Veil

While finishing with the Buddha design, there had to be women’s shirt design in this area too.  We really liked the simplicity of this women looking like she is praying.  Adding little straightjacket symbols on her shirt and on the veil of her head.  Also adding an Eye of Ra to her necklace to make the transition into another style of design.

Budhha

Buddha.  My older Brother likes the symbolism of Buddha, the enlightenment and so on.  In a way we are searching for something.  When we were designing this shirt, we couldn’t find an image of Buddha that would work with what we had in mind.  After hours of researching going through pictures, we came across a small statue that I thought was the style of Buddha that we were looking for.  And with one great symbol there had to be more.  I am not sure exactly what the Chinese looking symbol means, but since I don’t know Chinese and I didn’t have a translator at the time I picked on that I thought was cool looking and added some lines and took away some others, so it kept its basic shape, but it still looked authentic.  So I apologize if it means something else, than just something that look Awesome.  The Symbol of the Flaming Balls, I thought it would be cool to have it represent the three Brothers that we are, and that it part of the meaning but it is actually: Tirantana, which has the meanings of Buddha and his teachings, the Sangha and his followers.

Persian Design

Persian Design: Wow, you really like the wings, huh? Not necessarily.  But because of the first design I wanted to move to this one.  When I was searching on how to draw the Wings on my other design the image of the Faravahar, came up on the search window.  I really liked the original design and what it stood for:  Wisdom of age. Good thoughts, good words, and good deeds. It has no beginning and no end.. etc.

I changed the look of it a bit and put “Sam” in place of the Old Wise Man in the original image, but I think a lot of the same meanings and symbolism can still be applied.  I would like to do more with the Arabic Language; I think it is very beautiful when it’s written and also spoken.

Wings Design

This was the first design that we printed.  An idea for our designs was to make them symbolic.  Taking some of our favorite symbols form different cultures around the world.  An emphasis on Egypt, Hindu/Buddha and Astrology.  After several different designs in trying out these different directions.  I thought I should start with something simple.  Taking our main logo "Sam" and adding wings because it changed his appearance in an interesting way.  And almost leaving it there, I wanted to add a symbolism that maybe we all could relate to.  And that is why it has the Ink Blot image in the back.  Growing up as a kid and going to the doctor and being shown these images, I couldn't imagine that I even came close to what it was supposed to be.  But going home making my own, they never seemed to turn out as cool as Rorschach's.  But I felt that it completed the Design.

I hope You enjoy it.
